Dodge knows a few things about Ram Heavy Duty truck owners. They tend to be male and on average stand 5-foot, 11-inches tall.  Two-thirds of these folks own a dog, and of those two-thirds, half of them have two dogs.

Oh, and they also like trucks: high-quality trucks. For a truck this important to the people who rely on it every day for both livelihood and lifestyle, Dodge put quality first and foremost into design, materials and capability.

“This vehicle is incredibly important to the corporation and the new Ram Brand, because it is the heart and soul,” says Fried Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer–Dodge Ram Brand, Chrysler Group LLC.

The new Dodge Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 pickups rolled onto the scene this week with media test drives and are on their way to dealerships in the coming months.

Sporting the all-new interior that made 2009 Ram 1500 line a huge hit, customers may have a tough time selecting either a Heavy Duty Regular Cab, a Mega Cab, or for the first time from Dodge, a Crew Cab. Consumers also have two great engines to chose from, including the 5.7-Liter HEMI® gasoline V-8 that brings 383 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft of torque; or the legendary Cummins® Turbo Diesel that generates 350 horsepower and a double-take worthy 650 lb.-ft of torque with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Couple that with up to 18,000 pounds of towing capacity, and the heavy duty has just about anything a truck buyer could want, and a range of pricing options. A Ram Regular Cab ST 4x2, for instance, will start at $28,165 and a fully loaded one-ton, dual-wheel 3500 can reach $51,595.
