Commuters, highway travelers
and road warriors of all backgrounds take note: Kelley Blue Book
has named the 2010 Chrysler 300
among its list of the 10 Most Comfortable Cars Under
$30,000.
New car shoppers told KBB
in a recent study that driving comfort is the second-most important
factor in considering a new car purchase, just behind reliability.
With that in mind, KBB editors evaluated a slew of vehicles, with
special attention to quiet rides, smooth handling and – of
course – supportive, comfy seats.
"For so many road warriors
pounding the American pavement each day, whether they are traveling
salespeople or folks with a long daily commute, comfort reigns king
in the search for a new car," said Jack R. Nerad, executive
editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue
Book's kbb.com.
Nerad adds that while not
all vehicles on the list are brand spanking new, each proves
“their worth for the shopper who places comfort at the top of
their consideration list, and at a reasonable price to
boot.”
The KBB results are great,
but for us, not entirely unexpected. Chrysler 300 has the interior
space of a front-wheel-drive package in a rear-wheel-drive vehicle.
All of those comfort features the KBB folks were looking for
are standard on the 2010 Chrysler 300S models as well. The cabins
of the new Chrysler 300S models exude a serious, athletic-interior
theme. A uniquely designed steering wheel with carbon weave is
accented with red stitching and brushed silver spokes. The Dark
Slate Gray leather front seats are track-tested and feature an
embroidered “300S” logo on the
seatback.
The Dark Slate interior
theme continues around the driver and passenger side and is
highlighted with brushed aluminum accents on the instrument panel
center stack, center console side-trim and upper-door trim.
Carbon-weave door-pull handles with red accent stitching finish off
the interior of both 300S V-6 engine and 300S HEMI V-8 engine
models.
