Cars and Consistency Driving Chrysler Group U.S. Sales by Mike Driehorst February 1, 2012 11:04 AM I'd give Chrysler Group's U.S. January sales a C. Or, rather two Cs. Huge increase in car sales combined with consistency across all brands in growth drove our U.S. sales last month. For the big picture, January sales were 101,149, which is up 44% compared to January 2011. It was the 22nd consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, the eighth straight month of 20% or more sales growth, and the best January since 2008. Are You Looking for Room to Drive? by Mike Driehorst October 19, 2011 11:37 AM Americans inherently want more room. When the early U.S. states and territories were getting crowded in the 1800s, people headed west, right? And, that same desire for personal space applies when we're out and about driving or just going along for the ride. Inspired by one of our @Chrysler Twitter followers, we put together a chart to compare the passenger space of our more roomier SUVs, crossovers and minivans. We even tossed in the Fiat 500, which tacks up pretty well in driver's space compared to its bigger cousins, doesn't it? Okay, even though our Twitter... Ram, Jeep Brands Lead Chrysler Group's U.S. February Sales Growth by Mike Driehorst March 2, 2011 9:47 AM Spurred by Ram and Jeep® brands, Chrysler Group saw another month of year-over-year sales growth during February in the U.S. February marked the 11th consecutive month of year-over-year sales increase with a 13% sales increase, topping out at 95,102 units. In taking a look at the overall U.S. new vehicle sales market (link will open an Excel file) -- data courtesy of Autodata Corp. -- Chrysler Group came in as the #5 automaker with 9.6% of sales in February 2011. That's about 3000 vehicles shy of the #4 auto OEM, and about 3000 vehicles north... The 2011 Grand Cherokee is flying out of showrooms, the all-new Compass is starting to take off, the Jeep test track at the Chicago Auto Show is better than ever and the brand is celebrating its 70th anniversary with special edition models. NAIAS 2011: Jeep Reflects 'American Spirit' by Mike Driehorst January 10, 2011 6:09 PM As with the Chrysler Brand news conference earlier in the day, Jeep® Brand President/CEO Mike Manley reflected back on the recent uncertainty of Chrysler Group -- while also looking forward during the North American Auto Show news conference. "Jeep Brand has a significant role to play with Chrysler Group...it reflects the American spirit...and being all you can be to the fullest extent of your abilities." During the Nov. 4, 2009, Chrysler Group business plan presentation, Manley said he pledged to renew or refresh every vehicle in the lineup.
