While our friends at Honda have maintained their second place standing, the Chrysler Town & Country has edged up a notch to third place with a slim 382 lead over Toyota. 'Local Heroes' Contest Winner Receives Keys to New Wheelchair-accessible 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan by Ralph Kisiel August 29, 2012 8:13 PM Alberto Cruz and his family can once again drive together as a family. Such a simple act – piling into the family vehicle to go to the mall, a picnic or out to eat – wasn’t possible after Alberto’s life-changing accident last summer. Alberto, an energetic 15-year-old from Willimantic, Conn., was paralyzed from the shoulders down in a freak surfing accident at Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island. Heck, as we all know, Chrysler had the foresight to create the minivan category, and we've continually raised the standard with minivan firsts. While only three automakers really compete in the minivan segment, it's been a tightly contested race for the top brand spot in recent years.
