UPDATE: Welcome to the Viper Cafe

(For those who did not get to attend the grand opening of the Viper Cafe, here is an updated version of the blog that appeared before the ribbon-cutting, including pictures of the cafe taken by Maurice Liang.)

A new dining experience debuted this weekend in the shadow of Chrysler Group LLC’s World Headquarters tower in Auburn Hills, Mich. In fact, it’s located in the Walter P. Chrysler Museum.

I can’t say I’ve ever had museum food, but I’m sure the menu will be fine.

Two Bosses Have a "Moment"

During last night's induction ceremony for the inaugural Walter P. Chrysler Legacy awards, Chrysler Group LLC President and CEO Sergio Marchionne decided to invite UAW President Bob King and Ford CEO Alan Mulally to the stage to help him introduce inductee Lee Iacocca. When Marchionne complimented Ford's recent strong financial results, the Blue Oval's boss showed his appreciation. It's only :22 but worth a peek.

Iacocca, Petty, Leno and Exner Arrive in Photo Finish

Combine living legends Lee Iacocca and Richard Petty, with the late design genius Virgil Exner and Tonight Show host/auto enthusiast and collector Jay Leno, and you've got a pretty impressive class of inductees at the inaugural Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Gala. Mr. Exner was represented by his namesake son.

 

The gala is part of a major fundraising campaign for the non-profit Walter P. Chrysler Museum, which is located on the grounds of the Chrysler World Headquarters and Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI.

Final Cruise Night Brings Out Classics and Big Crowd

Walter P. Chrysler Museum Cruise nights came to a close for the 2009 season with another nice turnout last Thursday after the rain passed on through.

Their were 6 cruise nights at the Chrysler museum this summer and like any outdoor event the weather is a major factor.

Out of the 6 cruise nights 3 were effected by the rains. But the 3 that were nice evenings the classic cruisers were out in full force! One evening had 280 plus vehicles..a great turnout!
