Exhibit celebrates artists at work

Employees in the automotive field are known for strong math, science and technical skills. However, Chrysler Group wants its employees to tap into their inner artist.

About 600 entries were submitted by UAW-represented and non-bargaining-unit Chrysler employees for the 2013-2014 Artists @ Work Exhibition, the country’s only juried art show sponsored by a major corporation and labor union. Chrysler Group LLC continues its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15-Oct. 15, with the second installment of the Hispanic Perspectives web series.

The video highlights a recent partnership between Kaiser Permanente, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and the Chrysler Group, which included an interactive health and wellness pavilion at the Excellence in Journalism national conference in Anaheim, Calif., Aug. 24-26, 2013.

Hispanic Heritage Month is observed each year in the United States from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 to pay tribute to the history, culture and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Record-Setting Matchmaker Event Pairs Purchasing With Minority Suppliers

Tech Plaza, in the Chrysler Technical Center,  is the closest thing we have to a town square. With its soaring four-story atrium and expansive open space, it's a perfect place for a major meet-up.

That's essentially what the 14th annual Matchmaker event is--a chance for representatives from suppliers owned or operated by women, minorities and veterans to get together with members of the Chrysler Group purchasing and supply organization.
