Eleven Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Fiat Vehicles Named Top Safety Picks by Mike Driehorst December 26, 2011 12:08 PM Eleven 2012 Chrysler Group vehicles -- up from nine 2011 models -- earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Senior VP for Engineering Scott Kunselman said the IIHS ratings for the 11 vehicles "underscores our commitment to engineering safety and security across all vehicle segments." Among the latest safety innovations that are standard or available on many models is SafetyTec, which includes ParkSense rear park assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection. In 2010, Chrysler Group partnered with Car and Driver to launch a campaign called “TXT U L8R” that encouraged drivers to take a pledge against distracted driving. Chrysler Group Improves in IIHS Top Safety Picks by Mike Driehorst December 22, 2010 8:42 AM Five Chrysler Group 2011 vehicles made the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Picks for 2011 -- up from four 2010 models last year, and up from two of the 2009 models. In all, the IIHS named 66 vehicles as Top Safety Picks. The Dodge Avenger and Dodge Journey each were name IIHS Top Safety Picks -- for the third straight year.
