Five Chrysler Group Vehicles Among Consumer Guide Auto’s Best Buys

Chrysler Group – thanks to Dodge, Ram and Chrysler brands – had five of its vehicles among Consumer Guide® Automotive’s 2013 Best Buys 26 award winners.

In fact, looking at brand families, Chrysler Group tied with Honda with the most of any automaker.
  • Midsize SUV: Dodge Journey (only one of three)
  • Large SUV: Dodge Durango (only one)
  • Large pickup: Ram 1500 (only one)
  • Minivan: Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan (only ones)

Chrysler High Quality Again Recognized

On top of last week's quality-focused honors, we again were recognized by a third-party group as being one of the best-performing automotive OEMs in a quality rating.

Strategic Vision, a research-based consultancy, announced its Total Quality Index™ study Monday -- and Chrysler Group finished tied for second. We also scored top category wins from the FIAT, Dodge and Jeep® brands.

In its 2012 TQI study, Strategic Vision ranked VW of America, which includes Audi, first with a score of 890/1000. Combined, VW of America had five vehicles that ranked best of the 21 categories, with VW brand...

Chrysler Group Moves Into the Third Dimension

Since becoming the new Chrysler Group LLC., the company continues to search for and discover new ways to develop products that are better and more advantageous for our consumers. One of the first initiatives of the new Chrysler Group was implementing a more efficient way to manufacture higher quality vehicles. This process, called World Class Manufacturing, allows the company to cut costs, reduce injuries and produce vehicles at a higher level of craftsmanship.

Who doesn’t love hearing the words “great job!” The Dodge brand is savoring a double-dose of “well done” kudos from the people who matter most – our customers!

Vehicle owners participating in the J.D. Power & Associates APEAL Study have given their highest satisfaction ‘stamp of approval’ to the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger, ranking them highest in their respective categories for the second year in a row. APEAL is an acronym for Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout.

How's That for ROI: WCM Academy Generates $1 Million Savings

And that's only within the first six months of its opening back in January.

Almost immediately after the FIAT-Chrysler partnership began, we started to implement FIAT's World Class Manufacturing process in our operations. While it's a continual process to keep improving manufacturing quality, WCM has already borne a bountiful harvest.

The World Class Manufacturing Academy is just the latest example. WCM Academy is where our plant managers, team leaders and other plant employees are trained in WCM. It's a 25,000-sq.-ft. facillity, housed within the UAW-Chrysler Technology Training Center, Warren, Mich., and can train 1,200 people annually.
