While April 26 may be just another day on the calendar to most people, to many, it’s something special.

April 26 – aka 426 – has grown over the years to become a grassroots celebration of the 426 HEMI® engine.

The first engine with hemispherically-shaped combustion chambers, the 426 HEMI  was officially unveiled in 1964 as a racing engine. It was later tamed and added to our production cars. It’s had a wealth of high-powered history on the road and on the track since then.

As part of our historic expedition across America in our Flame Red Jeep Wrangler, Brittany and I headed to the Arizona Biltmore, crowned as the “Jewel of The Desert” for Sunday Brunch. With many miles to trek each day, it is very rare for us to sit down and enjoy all the Sonoran Desert of Arizona has to offer. Mack Avenue Builds Final 4.7; Looks Forward to Pentastar

Employees at Mack Avenue Engine Plant I (Detroit) built the final 4.7-liter V-8 engine last week, ending 15 years of production that yielded more than 3 million powerplants used in Ram trucks and other Chrysler Group products.

The last 4.7-liter (right) was signed by employees and will be displayed in the plant’s lobby.

"Producing more than 3 million engines is a testament to each and every person that has worked at Mack Avenue Engine Plant I during the past 15 years," said UAW Local 51 President Lorenzo Poole.
