While a lot of focus in the early goings of Chrysler Group LLC (officially formed June 9, 2009) has been on our vehicles and manufacturing, we're still keeping a close eye on Mother Earth and fellow citizens.

Or rather, there's less of something in the air. There's less carbon dioxide (CO2) to be exact in the European air and there will be less of it in the U.S. and Canada thanks to Fiat.
In 2010 -- the fourth straight year -- Fiat brand automobiles recorded the lowest level of CO2 emissions for vehicles sold in Europe. Green Scene: Reusing Seat Foam, Reducing Waste

Chrysler Group LLC has raised the bar on sustainable manufacturing by replacing soy with recycled foam waste material in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee seat manufacturing process. It's an industry first, and the company estimates the process will save some 180,000 pounds of foam from reaching landfills each year.
