Vipers Cruise Through Morning Race Warm-up

The two 2013 SRT Viper GTS-Rs are undergoing last-minute tuneups after successfully completing warm-ups this morning prior to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race this afternoon at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

There was some concern yesterday when the No. 91 car blew an engine and had to cut short its qualifying run. But team mechanics worked the problem and those in the know say the car is good to go.

New York is not traditionally known as a car town, at least when compared to Detroit or Los Angeles. But that reputation – deserved or not – doesn’t appear to be getting in the way of all the fun expected at the 2012 New York International Auto Show.

Along with the new reveals, the concepts and the show biz glitz that only The Big Apple can provide, two vehicles under the Chrysler Group banner will be introduced – the new 2013 Ram 1500 and the new 2013 SRT Viper.

Outgoing, Incoming Auto Press Association Chiefs

We want to extend our gratitude and best wishes to one of the best auto writers in the business on completing a very productive and exciting year as President of the Automotive Press Association. Joann Muller, Forbes Detroit Bureau Chief, presided over her final meeting today, which featured a speech and Q&A session with Olivier Francois, Chrysler Group Chief Marketing Officer. 

Her successor is Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press, the paper's longtime, well-respected, autos reviewer.
